Saturday, July 4
Suggested departure from New York

Arrive in Milan, check-in to hotel

Monday, July 6
8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast
9:30 am – 3:30 pm  – Lecture on Theme w/screenings of clips. Focus will be placed on character transformation. Students form writing groups followed by a discussion and critique of each groups work.
(8:00pm-9:30pm) – Welcome Dinner with students and faculty

Tuesday, July 7
8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast
9:30 am – 3:30 pm  – Lecture on Arch plot with screening of La Vita è Bella by Roberto Benigni. Students form writing groups followed by a discussion and critique of each group’s work.

Wednesday, July 8
8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast
9:30 am – 3:30 pm Visit to World Expo

Thursday, July 9
8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast
9:30 am – 3:30 pm  – Lecture on Miniplot w/screening of Roma Città Aperta by Roberto Rossellini. Students form writing groups followed by a discussion and critique of each group’s work.

Friday, July 10
8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast
9:30 am – 3:30 pm  – Lecture on Antiplot with screening of 8 ½ by Frederico Fellini. Students form writing groups followed by a discussion and critique of each group’s work.

Week 2

Saturday, July 11
9:30 am – 3:30 pm – Travel by train to Belgeritte/Lake Maggiore

Sunday, July 12
Free Day

Monday, July 13
8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast
9:30 am – 3:30 pm – Ms. Buster lectures on the development of story, the big idea, the relationship between protagonist and antagonist, the articulation of emotion in a script, substance, structure, style and the principles of screenwriting.
8:00 pm – Dinner

Tuesday, July 14
8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast
9:30 am – 3:30 pm – Ms. Buster continues her lecture on story development.
8:00 pm – Dinner

Wednesday, July 15
8:30 – 9:30 am – Breakfast
9:30 am – 3:30 pm – Students will be divided into two groups with each group working on three scripts/treatment in the morning. The afternoon will focus on reading and preparing discussions.
