This unique two-week program offers students a once in a lifetime experience to attend one of the most renowned film festivals in the world—the Cannes Film Festival taking place on the beautiful French Rivera. The annual celebrity-packed event previews new feature, independent and short films from all genres around the world from major filmmakers to first time directors. Students receive; accreditation, daily access to screenings of selected films, Q &A’s with filmmakers, and attend events and panel discussions at the American Pavilion and Director Fortnight. During the second-week of the program, students can request tickets to premiere screenings at the Grand Theater Lumiere.
Students registering for this course are required to complete a twelve-page essay on one of the films screened two weeks after the close of the program or submit a daily five-hundred-word response paper on either a film or paneled artist.
Tuition for the program includes: accreditation, shared hotel accommodations, daily breakfast, US Pavilion membership pass, priority access to the Directors’ Fortnight screenings & panel discussions, welcome & farewell dinners and airport pickup /drop off from Nice Airport to Hotel. Students attending the evening Red Carpet premiere screenings in the Grand Theater Lumiere, are required to wear black-tie evening attire.
